Privacy Policy — Chrome Extension

This Privacy Policy explains how Simarahitam Technologies Pvt. Ltd. (“we”, “us”) handles your information when you use WinRec — the Chrome extension, the website at winrec.online, and the AI critique service.

The short version: Your recordings are stored locally in your browser. When you request an AI critique, a temporary copy is uploaded only for analysis and deleted immediately afterward. We never store your videos permanently, and we never sell your data.

1. Recording is local-first

Videos you record with WinRec are saved in your browser’s local storage on your device. They are not uploaded anywhere unless you explicitly request an AI critique.

2. What happens when you request an AI critique

WinRec creates a temporary review copy of the selected segment. Any areas you blur are baked into this copy before it leaves your device.
The copy is uploaded to secure temporary storage (Cloudflare R2) via a short-lived, single-purpose link.
Google’s Gemini model analyzes the video to generate the critique. The video is processed subject to Google’s applicable terms.
The temporary video is deleted immediately after analysis, and a safety lifecycle rule removes any stray object automatically.
We do not retain the video. We retain the text critique linked to your account so you can view your history.

3. Information we collect

Account: when you sign in with Google for critiques, we receive your email, name, and profile picture. We store a one-way hashed identifier plus your email to operate your account and usage limits.
Usage & critiques: the text of your critiques, their grade/context, and counts used, to power history and enforce plan limits.
YouTube channel analytics (only if you connect a channel): if you choose to connect your YouTube channel, WinRec uses the YouTube Analytics API (yt-analytics.readonly scope) to read your own channel's analytics — audience demographics, average view duration / retention, traffic sources, and top-performing content. We use this solely to calibrate your AI critique to your real audience. We access only the analytics of the account you authenticate; we never access any other user's data. Connecting a channel is optional and you can disconnect or revoke access at any time.
Billing: handled by our payment partner (Razorpay). We receive subscription status; we do not store full card numbers.
Diagnostics: the extension may send anonymous, aggregated product telemetry (e.g. that a recording started) tied to a random install ID, never to your identity or content. This can be turned off in the extension.

4. What we do NOT collect

We do not collect your browsing history, page contents, page URLs/titles, microphone audio outside a recording you initiate, or the contents of your recordings beyond the temporary critique processing described above.

5. Third parties

Google — sign-in, the Gemini AI model that analyzes review videos, and (if you connect a channel) the YouTube Analytics API.
Cloudflare R2 — temporary storage of the review copy during analysis.
Razorpay — payment processing for Pro subscriptions.
Infrastructure providers used to host the service.

6. YouTube API Services

WinRec's channel-connect feature uses YouTube API Services. By connecting your channel you agree to the YouTube Terms of Service. Google's handling of your data is governed by the Google Privacy Policy. WinRec only requests read-only access to your own channel's analytics (yt-analytics.readonly); we do not post, modify, or delete anything on your channel, and we do not access any other user's YouTube data. You can revoke WinRec's access to your Google/YouTube account at any time via your Google security settings. Analytics we retrieve are used in-session to generate your critique and to populate your channel-intelligence summary; we do not sell this data or share it with third parties for advertising.

7. Data retention

Review videos: deleted right after analysis (and within an hour at most by lifecycle rule). Critique text and account/usage data: retained while your account is active. You can request deletion (see below).

8. Your rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your account data by emailing support@winrec.online. You can stop telemetry in the extension and uninstall at any time.

9. Security

We use short-lived signed links for uploads, encrypted connections, and hashed identifiers. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we delete review videos promptly to minimize exposure.

10. Changes

We may update this policy; material changes will be reflected by the “Last updated” date above.
